This experience has already been infinitely better.
No distractions, productive uses of time, growing useful skills.
And most importantly, building something meaningful.
Agree mostly regarding exploration, mistakes, and the like.
But imagine being the turbo zoomer ~18 who has been pouring all their time and energy into bitcoin for months and months, perhaps only had part time a job with a few hundred dollars to their name.
Compared to the mcboomer who has been riding the property market for 30 years, learned about bitcoin yesterday, and has just sold their house to market buy 15btc today.
Life isn't fair, simply must adapt
Today the Australian government is announcing that teenagers under 16 will be banned from social media.
This implies people over the age of 16 will need to link their government identification to every social media account.
The announcement coincides with the preparation of a federal Misinformation Bill - compelling platforms to crack down on what our "eSafety" commissioner deems disinformation.
For Australians, Nostr is an idea whose time has come.

I don't see Tor becoming any more mainstream, even I only use it for a few specific purposes - like connecting to my bitcoin node. Tor's time was in the 2010s and it never stopped. Unless there was a complete rearchitecture that solved bandwidth and DDOS concerns, normies can't stand slow internet.

at least ones from china are cheap, probably from same factory. Bit of a mystery lootbox, exhilarating gamble through customs
I kept trying to convince at least two non-custodial btc trading companies to pivot to prediction markets, maybe even DLC based. Viral markets make themselves. Simply didn't get it
Melbourne BitDevs is going very strong. It's always sad to miss a meetup, but it's also so heartening to see others take on the role of hosting. Bitcoin social hydrae.

We're not the most technical group in the developer sense, but somehow we've assembled an incredibly diehard group of dedicated cypherpunks. And perth and sydney bitdevs are taking off too! ( @Pete_Winn , @aurelian_btc) - I'll make the AU-wide landing page soon 🤝
i owe a lot of my early computer skills to halo1 modding and creating fake windows .bat viruses in primary school, minecraft modding was a later accelerant
In grade 4 I learned that I could name my halo CE trial servers:
!100% N0 L4G!
To attract dozens of people from some unknown espanol speaking countries; connecting to my family's shitty compaq on the other side of the world in australia - oh man did they lag. Hours spent spawn raping defenseless 500ms+ plebs on bloodgulch with the shotgun.
Later started making mods using a gui tool "HMT". I'd add in a tank or exploding sniper bullets. They'd join my server without having the modded files, and they'd get hit by the invisible tank or lit up by a fully automatic sniper which they could never figure out.

What's the deal with Claude subscription?
Is it still easy to hit the usage limit?
ppq.ai gets expensive with large code calls.
Thinking of trying Cursor IDE to see what it thinks about the repos.

For some stability systems where "balance is locked in as USD with coverage up to a X% drawdown", once the price falls below that point and the stability contract ends you become net long bitcoin. This is likely not a terrible thing!
You've lost your stability but it's like closing a short position hedge after a huge drop!
