What was the most unexpected combination of jazz musicians you ever heard?
I am begging. The English-speaking world. To look up the difference. Between "horde" and "hoard."...
@ce899ddd @8fcc91a6 Look up sentence fragments, too.
Here's a classified ad from the latest pitiful edition of #jazztimes. Nothing sketchy here! Sounds perfectly legit to me....

Jazztodon artist of the week: Pucci Amanda Jhones! Manhattan-based vocalist Jhones has shared a bandstand with Dizzy, Kenny Barron, Freddie Hubbard, and many others. Check out her great album "Wild as the Wind."

@78225f0f Another fine idea that sounds great in theory but would never work in real life!
Jazztodon artist of the week: Greg Osby! An in-demand sideman and a co-founder of the M-Base Collective, Osby was also a notable member of Jack DeJohnette's Special Edition band. "I'd like to be regarded as provocateur and an experimentalist. What I do is based upon the greater aspects of sound, structure, and science as well as intuition, intellect and the human spirit."

Jazztodon artist of the week: Wesla Whitfield! A former opera singer, Whitfield has "a clear, strong voice that could be languid or sprightly, playful or demure," according to the NYT. Whitfield’s career took hold at West Coast clubs like the Cinegrill in Los Angeles and the Rrazz Room and the Empire Plush Room in San Francisco. In New York, she became a regular performer at the Oak Room of the Algonquin Hotel.

An appreciation of one of my favorite albums ever. It just so happened that John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Wynton Kelley, Paul Chambers, and Jimmy Cobb all peaked at exactly the same time, and the tapes were rolling.
