When the bombings on Gaza started, I was shocked to see it turn into a partisan issue. I didn’t think my hatred for politicians and government could get worse after that. And here we go again with this bullshit. People won’t be free as long as they’re so easily manipulated. Sad.
It’s sickening and when I’ve confronted a couple people about it, they tend to scoff at the idea that the problem is the state. The system is intrinsically broken and they’re too busy playing identity politics to realize it. One of my friends thinks trump is the best man to fix the country because of his background in business. As if that can help him improve the economy.
A lot of comments are saying if that was their kid, that guy would get fucked up. If it was my kid, that guy would need an ambulance. But the problem is that the guy felt confident enough to do that. Which means the father lost the fight before it even started. As a man with a family, you can’t project weakness ever. And if you’re not strong enough to physically protect them, then you need to carry some kind of weapon with you. That child will probably struggle with this traumatic experience for the rest of its life. Not acceptable.
What helps me avoid it is acknowledging that people have to learn it for themselves. I can only point them in the right direction. You can lead a horse to water but can’t make it drink.
This is all true but it comes with negative consequences to the platform. Abusing that power would create mistrust for the users. I hope he does it but I don’t think he’d be stupid enough to do that.
Text just makes it look more official. See it’s legit because it was written down thousands of years ago by god himself. No you can’t see him do it you just have to trust that it really was god.
Religion tells people what they can and can’t do. It tells people what is right and what is wrong. It determines punishments and rewards for people. Not very different from a government except it claims to be from god which they can’t prove. And if you ask for proof, they gaslight you by telling you that you need to pray harder and keep looking for arbitrary “signs from the universe” which are still not evidence.
There are other religions that say similar stuff man lmao you know Christianity wasn’t the first religion to claim that a god was born without a father lol
Moral absolutism is the scam. A lot of the morals in the Bible are outdated and/or evil. Moral relativism allows for nuance and does not require one to subject himself to corruptible authorities like the church or the state.
The creator of the Old Testament is the same god as the creator of Christianity. That means some people are still living with the eye for an eye mentality.
But why are you worried about my morals? Worry about your own life. This is another annoying thing about religious people. You guys can’t mind your own business lol also I don’t see how the western world is living on a Christian standard. Maybe America is loosely on a Christian standard but the rest of the western world is pretty agnostic. The state has separated government from the churches as well.
The constitution, a noble idea to be sure but an idea nonetheless. One jests that such an immaculate piece of parchment could uphold the liberties of free speech. One doth hope the people surely will not fall for such foolish tricks.
