#WritersCoffeeClub 8.9. Did you like to read as a child? Which books did you read?
I read a lot of the Donald Duck paperbacks when I was smaller.
I also devoured the TKKG stories by Stefan Wolf. It was a German junior detective series, remotely comparable to The Three Investigators.
Later I immersed myself in the fantasy worlds of Wolfgang Hohlbein. My first book by him was "Drachenfeuer" (dragon fire). So it's probably no surprise that I'm now writing a dragon fantasy novel myself. 😁
@d73175df Thank you. :)
Yeah, he has every reason to be pissed. But in fact he has brought this on himself through his own greed and arrogance. I hope he has learned his lesson since then...
#WordWeavers 7.9. Why did your villain become a villain?
I wrote a short monologue by Balor here some time ago here as a character study to examine his motives: https://text.tchncs.de/marcr/the-antagonists-monologue
As for <name placeholder>, his main reason was a loss of trust in the dragons, their role as "overseers", and society as a whole. He became fanatical about overthrowing this system and ending the pact between dragons and humans, willingly accepting the dire consequences of doing so.
#WritingWonders 13.8. Antagonist POV: How many people are you close with?
Balor: "I don't see how that's any of your business."
Me: "Please, it's for Writing Wonders!"
Balor: "Well, since you insist. There was only one person I would have trusted with my life, the former guardian of the Earth Temple in Run Hathin. However, I'm afraid I don't know what happened to him after the war, as no one can leave or enter that land anymore."
@5a4c912a Spannende Frage.
