Sometime back, I made started a project called Plant Go, where crypto is paid when someone plants a tree and others verify.
Crypto is also paid to verify a plant in GPS location.
I stopped since very few were using.
There is appimage in Linux where can can download the app image file and double click to run. No need to install.
I get your frustration that there is some learning curve in Linux.
