What would you say? Is this already an #orangery

I would say only a small step in the right direction.
Still a lot to fix and do.
Like complete the cabeling of temperature sensor and grow lamp.
Building a small table for the miner.
A lot of calculation and testing.

 #greenhouse #project #update

I haven´t found the time for an update the last days but I made some progress.
I have #electricity, a bus cable for #smart #home devices and #ethernet in my greenhouse.
I have also installed a very cool and flexible grow lamp.

But my "new" #S9 somehow got lost by the delivery company.
It says I have already received it. But I have been at home all day on the day of delivery and noone came on this day. And 2 packages are "lost".
Seems I don´t have much luck with my #miners 😄
Hope I have an update soon. Temperature is dropping.

Anyhow I will share a few photos soon.
It´s not about anyone need to run a node. It´s about anyone CAN run a node.
That´s the major achievement of BTC. Noone needs to trust anyone. Sure you can if you want to.
It is important EVERYONE has the choice.
Increasing the block size, adds the possibility that this concept fails.
That´s why I don´t want the block size to increase.

I don´t say we have the perfect 2nd layer for now.
But I know I don´t want to add the requirement for trust to the main layer.
I think most people today can run a node and without the limit it gets cheaper over time.
And I would assume they just can´t afford a node, because they don´t have Bitcoin.

But tbh I want a BTC where I can easily run a node for myself. And this would be in danger if we would increase the block size.
So for me it is no question if "any of the existing L2 techs or block size increasing".
It is just a question of "increasing the block size or not". For me it is not an option at all.

 winter is coming closer
I don´t have enough time to fix my #s9 #antminer
and I found a very cheap one, so I decided to split my projects
the #greenhouse #project gets the new s9 #miner

and my the malfunction s9 will be a separate project.
So this one I want to use to train my solder and hardware troubleshooting skills.
And I want to use it for project where I might kill it.
E.g. I wanted to try immersion cooling some day.

It´s my #dream and #vision to build and run an #orangery.
But orangery is much more than a vision for sth physical, it´s a #symbol for:
#Sow #seeds and #thoughts
#Enable/ #empower #growth
#harvest more

#BTC is the orangery for our #society/#economy
I want to show how a BTC #strategy can empower #businesses
I believe in #smallscale businesses
I hope I can help to grow a #collaborative #network

 #greenhouse #mining update
After cleaning the malfunction temp sensor and mounting the heat sink I did another test.
I am using #braiins os because I have installed to silent sensors and the #antminer #firmware thinks the fan is not working properly because they require lower frequency.
braiins os shows me temperature of the #miner for the first few minutes but after it disappears and miner is reducing #hashrate.
It shows me error messages (I posted earlier) of the temperature sensor.
I saw in some forums that antminer #firmware is showing better error logs so I assambled the old fans and started the miner with the antminer firmware.

And yes this firmware shows me there are 2 temperature sensors and one is fully working and the other one brings an error with the first read attempt.
The antminer firmware is not reducing hashrate, but rather sets fan speed to always full power.
What means I could run this #hashboard using this firmware.
Anyhow I can´t, because the noise would ran my neighbor crazy

So my options are:
1. Finding a way to use antminer firmware with the silent fans
2. Find a way in Braiins OS to act like the antminer firmware
3. Find another OS
4. Replace the malfunction chip. But here I need to find out if the sensor itself is the problem or any connected component (capacitor or resistor)

I guess I will go with option 4
Maybe #nostr has got any advice?
#asknostr #diy #project #orangery
 I have a #S9 #antminer with only 1 working #hashboard.
But it also reduces #hashrate down to 200 Gigahashes after about 5 minutes running.
It comes with an error message
ERROR bosminer_hal::sensor: Sensor hb7[ii_hwmon::tmp451::TMP451]: read failed: I2C error: general error Hashchip: no response for read_register(reg=0x20) from chip One(61)

It means on Hashboard 7 (connector 7 of control board) sensor #TMP451 has a read fail.
There is a #I2C (bus) error. I am not sure what "chip One(61) really means, but I guess One means because it is the only tmp451 chip and 61 stands for the location (it is located next to Hashchip 61).

I found a few informations in different forums and on #zeusbtc.com (what is an awesome library for fixing mining hardware)

I unsolderd the #heatsink of hashchip 61 a found the senor. It looks pretty dirty (see pic) so I cleaned it an mounted the heatsink again. I will test the #miner tomorrow.
Maybe I am lucky and that was it. If not I will first try to run it with reduced power.
The (first) goal is to have at least one hashboard running stable.

If you want to see more about the #greenhouse project and/or technical details about mining hardware please #share, #react, #comment or #zap.
 Nothing is constant except change.
I am not doing any electrical works in my #greenhouse.
I rather have made the rest of my garden ready for winter.
But I tried to #fix my #S9 #antminer
I show details in a second note
This weekend I will equip my #greenhouse with 2 additional switchable sockets and prepare cables for a #grow lights. Maybe you can recommend some grow lights or give some tips?
I also try to fix my #s9 #miner. At least one #hashboard with a malfunction temperature sensor.

If I have got some time left, I also want to post some history of my projects, myself and my motivations.

#react #comment and/or #zap for more.

Sometimes I don´t yet understand nostr.
My zap appears with a different npub.
Anyhow I hope you can enjoy your jerky
With this account I am using browser apps only and here I have a lot of problems.
I like noStrudel, but I get a lot of error messages.
So I mostly use nostter, but when I want to zap it just loads forever.
Currently I am copying the ID of a post from nostter to nostr.band this is redirecting me to zapper.nostrapp, where I finally can create a lightning invoice to zap via Wallet of Satoshi
I guess I forgot to login on zapper.nostrapps

Maybe I should move to mobile apps. On mobile apps I never had issues in the past
 I will be patient.
I have decided to be nostr only. I don´t know if I will stick to "nostr only" in the long run, who knows what the future brings.
But currently I am also (mainly) doing this to explore nostr and learn about it. I don´t have any interest for any other social media "project"

Which client(s) are you using?
 Hi #nostr,

you might wonder why #organgery, if I don´t even own one??

It´s my #dream and #vision and it is a #symbol for my #values.
My strategy is to identify with what I want, not just what I have.
This keeps me motivated and on track

#introduction
Forgot to mention your #reactions #comments and #zaps of course motivate me as well 😉
Actually I have a greenhouse that will be heated by an S9 Miner. But this alone is not really what I would call an orangery.
I really love the light effects of my S9 #miner in my #greenhouse.
I build it this year and so far it is #tomatoes (and S9) only. Anyhow I will add some #grow lamp and sensors to it within the colder seasons and more different #plants next year.

I bought the s9 very chip but with a high risk that it is not working 100%. And turned out 2 of 3 #hashboards have malfunction hash chips and the other one has a problem with one temperature sensor. So I am currently working on a fix of the temperature sensor first.
So time to train my rusted #solder skills.

If you want to see more of my bitcoin greenhouse project please #share, #react, #comment or #zap.
Your are right it is really bright. TBH I didn´t expected this at first

Seems the image upload didn´t work. So I now try it with a link via nostr.build

 Hi nostriches,

I want to start this journey sharing my ideas and projects searching for solutions and knowledge that might be relevant in a bitcoin world.

My current projects are heating my pool with a S19 antminer and heating my greenhouse with a S9 antminer and of course my smart home with intelligent energy flow.
Future projects will focus on nostr, lightning, bitcoin.

If you are interested in details to the projects and the progress please give me a reaction, comment or zap.

I hope I can learn a lot of this community and find some interesting people.

I forgot to mention I am starting all my projects on a very small scale. Maybe I can expand some project in the future.
Anyhow I also think small scale is very underrated.
Hi, for now I want to increase my "network" so sharing would help ;)

But I am also interested in your experience.
What kind of node are you running? BTC, Lightning, nostr?
Andy you are running your own pool?
Which lottery miner are you using?
