@e38e83a6 @6911cb24 Cheaters are gonna cheat, but I have often found moving on and coming back later is very useful. Plus helps with time budgeting. Obviously I don’t know constraints you work under but I’d say make it better for the good kids and don’t worry about cheaters. 2¢ offered 🙄

@c8565328 it seems like there should just be something saying it’s fine for young children and that’s it. No need to break down into finer quanta. And it’s ALL gonna stream to their phones within an increasingly short window.

Disclaimer: I am a muggle in this domain so ignorant of subtleties.

@e38e83a6 @8c38420e @6911cb24 when I was a grad student, I taught “Intro to Computer Programming” (Pascal at the time) and a large number of my students were Secondary Education majors because they had to. I really tried hard to make things relatable and stress that programming is just, at its core, a recipe for solving a problem. The rest is just details. Which sometimes was hard, especially in 1993. But it was a simpler time. I really would love to teach again though.

@e38e83a6 @6911cb24 I agree. The non-cheaters know who the cheaters are, as do you.

Anyhoo, almost annular eclipse time and I’m going to view full eclipse in April (gonna rendezvous with brother in Wichita at our mom’s house and drive to Arkansas). Excited (though need to research camera filters).
