These comments about low testosterone today are bs. There have always been high and low testosterone men. Strength isn’t always physical. Maybe y’all hanging out in the wrong places. Go to a hardcore punk show, or a frat party, or a baseball game, or a biker bar. Plenty of young testosterone out there. Funny how the big ass weight lifting bros are the ones who need steroids.
And why do people think Democrats are anymore competent (or willing) than Republicans to commit fraud at that level? They both suck. A previous republican Kansas Secretary of State spent millions to find what he was sure was widespread voter fraud only to prosecute 15 people, some cases of which were errors. Government officials and judges, many republicans, agreed there was no evidence. It’s BS.
Key commands are good to know in Mac. Cmd-Space search anything and open apps, Cmd-tab switch between apps. In the Finder (desktop) the file system is pretty simple. Open drive, you have Applications, Library, System, Users with home folders, very Linux like actually
I randomly get "Something went wrong - Missing pubkey" on noStrudel, though I am logged in with an extensiton (Chrome on macOS). Usually page refresh fixes it.
@Alby can definitely make it easier to manage (I run a hub on Umbrel). If you’re a business owner and have a billion other things to manage as well, and just need it to work 24/7 with 99.999% uptime it can be a challenge running on prem, but they have a cloud option too.
I’m not sure if you can run Alby Hub itself on macOS. Umbrel and Start9 can be installed on a mini PC and they have Alby installers. I access my Alby Hub on Umbrel with my MacBook. Go to @BTCsessions profile and find the video on Alby, it’s good.
Yes the app has a great look and design.
A few other thoughts (iOS):
- Is it possible to hide the row of articles/videos at the top? I’d rather just see my feed.
- add an option to disable profile preview, i.e. when tapping someone’s avatar/name, just go to the profile rather than bring up a preview pane (other clients have this). Less taps is better imo
- Integrate with translators like LibreTranslate
- I’ve noticed I’m only getting some notifications when I quit and relaunch the app
- Add drag down to refresh…?
Thank you
No one is saying get rid of co2. And it’s not about amount but rate of change and the effect on other things, like temperature. Also things were much different during those eras, population for one. Why is it so hard to believe 8+ BILLION humans couldn’t affect the atmosphere and climate? I don’t have a problem with that, rather the ways government wants to deal with it, some of which are asinine.
App is looking great and a lot of interesting features. Though I don’t really understand how to use the ‘Verify Notes’ section.
While all the features are cool, for day to day use it is difficult to use since I always have to see replies. My feed is cluttered with them and they make no sense (so many replies to notes from people I don’t follow) and I don’t want to go into each and everyone one to see what they’re about. Having the option of choosing “Notes” or “Notes + Replies” in the feed would really help.
Also, I like that you have a Google Translate link. Have you thought about LibreTranslate integration? I don’t know if the translations are better but it is convenient to use
Go to the web page on your iPhone and enable zaps. It will run a script to enable zaps. I was hesitant but the developer of Damus himself told me about it. It worked for me. You still need the Alby connection too
I tend to go down rabbit holes...
@umbrel OS on a Beelink running a #bitcoin node, Electrum server, @Alby Hub, connected to two #Nostr keys with custom domain NIP-05 identifiers and lightning wallets, plus three #Bitaxe Supras overclocked and solo mining to my instance of @Public-Poolhttps://m.primal.net/LhNp.jpg
* Install UmbrelOS on a mini PC, or buy an Umbrel Home (Start9 is an alternative).
* Optional vs VPN/Tor: Create a Tailscale account. Install Tailscale on Umbrel and any devices you want to access it with. Now you can remotely access the Umbrel server.
* Install Bitcoin Node and allow it to sync 100% (this can possibly take many hours).
* Install Electrs (Electrum server) and let it sync (if progress appears to get stuck after installation close the window and launch again from Umbrel or restart Umbrel.
* Install Lightning Node.
* Install Alby Hub. Join their Discord server and attend an onboarding session and watch videos/read docs: @Alby
Paying monthly for the cloud service, yes? If you run your own hub you only pay transaction fees, but it’s more work. I run it mostly out of technical curiosity and like you said support decentralized network and open source devs. Also if all this takes off good to have the knowledge and experience early.
I haven’t used start9 but I believe similar to Umbrel. Start with Bitcoin Node since it’s a prerequisite for other stuff. Let it sync 100%. I don’t know the technical reasons but you need Electrum Personal Server (electrs) on top of that. Then you can connect your wallets to it. You need vpn or Tailscale to access remotely. See what I mean by going down the rabbit hole?
Getting the over clocked Bitaxes dialed in. Trying to reduce rejected shares. Using Pluto dashboard.

Hello, hoping you can help. I have a warning next to NIP-05 address in Nostter profile instead of check. Other clients show check. Do you know why or how I can fix? I have nostr.json set up and pass CORS test. Thank you
Maybe 200%. But seriously anarchism has history that I don’t think includes a large percentage (especially compared to the church). But I do wonder about all the weirdo-bros in the hyper-privacy movement.
So how do you use the model? Is it something devs have to build into clients? I have a list of relays in clients but I don’t see a way to designate inbox or outbox.
