I see we're right on time for my quarterly existential crisis about AI taking my job. https://twitter.com/cognition_labs/status/1767548763134964000
Developers who use enums should form a union.
Since we’re talking about Linda’s home screen, this is what a good, aesthetically pleasing, color coded, highly functional home screen looks like.

@433ed50a Having worked at Twitter for four years on societal health issues I get it. I didn't make any moral statements, I'm not passing judgements or saying that Meta should do this or that, I made a very specific statement about how Meta is well positioned to build a social platform that people like, and anything else someone reads into it is projection.

@433ed50a Not only is it possible, it’s actually shipping in the beta of Mastodon 4.2.0. My point is that this was never impossible, but that companies who understand social understand the impact search can have, and why Meta amongst others are more likely to build a compelling social experience that mainstream people want to use.
For all the talk of Threads launching with features missing Meta still managed to beat Mastodon to shipping search. There’s room for many, many, many federated platforms, and we should support lots of experimentation, but at the end of the day I expect this to happen over and over again. Companies like Meta or Tumblr or whoever have been building excellent social networking apps that people want to use for over a decade, in a way that a hardworking well-meaning group of volunteers have not.
