Might he be thinking about “rewriting the software” (as Kirk famously did) for X, perhaps making it more decentralized?  Win the game by rewriting the software to change the rules?

 It’s not clear to me yet whether the state of the world described in Cyberpunk literature represented a Nash Equilibrium or merely a transitional state.   But it feels like we are going to find out during our lifetimes. The answer hinges on whether or not decentralized platforms and open source software outcompete traditional centralized solutions.   My money says they do, but there will be blood before that happens.
