Something in the Dirt is one of my new favorite movies. I was expecting slightly more #horror than the film delivers. It feels more sci fi to me, but either way a serious mindfuck in an interesting and enjoyable form.
Like, similar to a movie like Inception, this film has layers. Unlike movies like Inception I did not feel like I was being called to figure out every detail and layer.

Translation is fucking complex. There simply is no 1:1 correlation between different languages. I suppose someday AI translation could get really advanced but there's no fucking way we're even close to that now.
And ESPECIALLY not if we start firing translators now in favor of AI—long before AI's capabilities are anywhere close.

Trans men don't fit the narrative they've attached to trans-ness so trans men don't exist to them at all. I have found it is virtually pointless to try to explain the concept of trans men to a transphobe.
Yes, there are TERFs who do talk about trans men (and have horrific things to say), but to your average transphobe on the street "trans" = "man pretending to be a woman", and they WILL NOT LISTEN.
Stopping to think just gets in the way of enacting violence, & we can't have that.
