What’s a normie? What changes when you fall into the rabbit hole?

These questions keep buggin...
What if the matrix is plugged into a bigger matrix?
We are all normies, just we are future normies.
 Is the creator conscious?
 😂
My wife feels her investment in watching ‘Married at first sight’ has been wasted as none of ...
I liked the early Aussie ones, they were genuinely brilliant.

Especially, the first affair that happened.

My wife still watches them and the latest UK one, but you can see the script which tires me, so I stopped watching a long time ago.

While she is watching these, I spend my time trying to understand more about everything.

 😞
 😂

I would do if she didn’t spend all her time watching this rubbish 😂

My Bitcoin bank XAPO made me lie to confirm I don't invest a lot in crypto and I had to lie and state it is an extremely risky investment.

However that aside, it then told me about UMA (Universal Money Address)

https://www.uma.me/

It's like a Lightning address mike@mikehardcastle.com but for USD.

Is the fiat world copying us?

What is this, is it just lightning, or is it something built on top of lightning?

 True
A closer look at how UMA uses the Lightning Network
UMA enhances LNURL and Lightning Addresses by including compliance messages and currency exchange features. This upgrade, along with the Lightning Network's fast settlement and Bitcoin's global reach, ensures affordable worldwide money transfers.

LNURL is a protocol that simplifies Bitcoin transactions over the Lightning Network, making them more user-friendly by enabling actions like payments and login without complex addresses.

 👀
But if it gets in peoples consciousness that you@yourbank or you@yourdomain can be a payment address, that can only help Lightning in general, right?
 I do, I really do.

I don't mean UMA, I mean you@yourdomain or you@yourorganisation

One address for communications, identity and payments.

Sure, most people will end up with the equivalent of a payment & identity hotmail address, but for me. I am mike@mikehardcastle.com

You want to communicate with me: mike@mikehardcastle.com
You want to find out who I am (NIP-05): mike@mikehardcastle.com
You want to pay me: mike@mikehardcastle.com

For me this is game changing.

This doesn't just separate money from the state it separates identity from the state.

And just like Bitcoin, it is for anyone, but not for everyone.

Also, it works equally well for those seeking anonymity.

For friends and family you are you@yourdomain

For online activity you are nym@privacydomain

UMA is a publicity stunt and an orange pill for normies, that is my only interest in it.

My mum kept thanking the milkman for some reason 🤣
 Welcome 🫂

You will always know the people you follow because you store that on relays.

You will never really know your true follower count as this is based on client discovery across relays.

Here is a different view of your follower count:
https://nostr.band/?q=npub18lmyh47aua400qaf230zlv7wsnvjr0nv3sz08hrvf7nnfnm7hqfq9599uz

If you look at some high count npubs like @jb55 you will see they have a follower count ranging from 2K to 1M depending on client.

This is a feature, not a bug 😂
Yes, there's all sorts of discovery options.
You wonderful humans here with a fantastic sense of humour, you make this place worthwhile.

I ...

Guardian will no longer post on Elon Musk’s X from its official accounts!
I think someone needs their domain name verified with a NIP-05 by following this guide:

Everybody is on the Bitcoin journey, some are further along than others 😂
 Not yet!
 True

He's not subtle
 What are everybody’s plans for $100K ?

Bugger humble 😂
I have a bottle of Arran founders reserve in the safe, (put there to prevent the in-laws from downing it), would that do?
It was actually a gift from my Scottish Father in law, who invested in them in the early 90's. He got 2 cases of Founders reserve bottles, which he distributed to the family in 2005.

I'm the only person left who hasn't drunk theirs, so I have to lock it up whenever my wives family visit 😂

 🫡

A little bit of gloating maybe? 😂
Ahhh, you have an evil plan too 🫂 😂
Do you mean start working? 😂
I have no fiat to DCA, I'm all in.
 🥺
 I have vintage Whisky 😃
 yes, yes I will 😂

 We are all vintage 😂
 Hey Begemot,

This is the last boat I sailed:

https://www.pocruises.com/cruise-ships/arvia/overview

I don’t sail right now, but will probably learn when I’m in Barbados waiting for my residency. I have several friends that sail, so would be great to join them.

Gonna probably visit South America next to look at 3 flag options:

https://www.investmentvisa.com/news-and-media/flag-theory-perpetual-traveler

If we’re in the same vicinity would be happy to meet another Bitcoiner for a beer.

Watch this space 😃

Haven’t posted today as I’ve been in bed with a pulled muscle from having to lift suitcases due to my Cruise Butler staying on board the ship to serve a new master.

However fun fact learned from a YouTube video about Richard Feynman watched while recuperating is, Helium is the only element that doesn’t form a solid at absolute zero (-273 C)

Instead, below 2 Degs above absolute zero it becomes a superfluid and will leak through a ceramic or glass container and create a self sustaining fountain due to it having zero viscosity.
 Thanks
If your desk is in space and shielded from the sun, then easy peasy. Just get a beaker filled with Helium 😂
 Sorry 🫂

Hitting the hard stuff after dinner just for your vicarious pleasure 😂

Hey @bitcoinsandy another fabulously wealthy Bitcoin Cruiser to follow, vicariously observing their life of over eating and long boozy beach lunches.

Enjoy my 🫂 nostr:note12y5s7wwypxm3j29872hsluq737rj8ct3mu66ymdckwlw9azwayeqjps4jl
 $35 dollars a day 😱

No booze? 😱

On another subject what tricks can you do?

Are you like the David Copperfield of the high seas?

Can you make your Cruise ship disappear? 😂
I’ll have you know it was a completely pissed cheesy grin 😂
 Fair enough 😂
Apparently BlueSky added 700,000 users this week.

That’s a lot of gimps!
We don't know how many we added.

That's a feature and a benefit 🤣
 I added one 😂
Omg I've missed this volatility 😂🥳
 🤣
Not sure who needs to hear this but ...

Butter is a dairy product
 What about 🍆 🧈 ?
The union for managers and professionals in public service?

https://www.fda.org.uk/

I’ll try, but not sure they’ll be much help 😂
Except for the Chinese, Russians and Palestinians.
Despite Orange pilling my builder, he still insists on filthy fiat, so going to sell off some of my legacy shitcoins as I spent all my wife's filthy fiat on luxury cruises and boozy beach lunches just to satisfy the vicarious whims of @bitcoinsandy
Am I starting to lean into #Ditto as my primary desktop Nostr client? hmmmmmm
I installed it on a VPS and ran it as a single instance.

That was a couple of months ago.

Loved it, but it would only show npubs and not NIP-05 and names 😔
 GM

We have sunshine here too, which means our builder is able to paint, which means I have to pay him, which means I have to sell shitcoins.

So all is good 😂
I have some BCH going spare after my trip to St. Kitts.
I've just checked, my BCH has gone up from £94 to £118.

I feel dirty 😂
Hey #devs if I zap myself, due to old age and senility, does anything actually happen?

Is there a round trip for the Sats, or do they just stay in the wallet?
 😂
