@91f99226 how large (in KM) is a Canton there? My city is roughly 28.9 km2. We have 500k people living within a 1000km2 area sharing a physical border with the 3rd largest city in the US. As far as corruption goes, it’s what politics is all about here. We call Cook County (Chicago) “Crook County” and our Lake County “Crook County East”.
@91f99226 our county has a population of about a half a million people. My city alone has about 40k people. It’s purely a matter of the infrastructure cannot handle the traffic it is getting. Verizon did a shite job of prepping and executing the roll out.
@efa2e20e the 4g non VoLTe has been off since Dec31 2022 for Verizon. We were told that the rest of the 4g network would be “slowly phased out”. With no date. The thought was that customers using old hardware (iPhone 5/6 and older), would have time to upgrade. However the new network here is unstable and cannot handle the volume. I drop calls like crazy in the middle of town, when I used to have service pretty much everywhere before the switch.
@efa2e20e@19cbfccb 3g has been totally shut off here for a while and they are rapidly phasing out 4g. Our service is terrible since the switch happened. When I spoke with a customer who is part of Verizon’s infrastructure team, he told me that they are at least 2 years away from even being close to fixing the myriad issues they are having.
