Successful orange pilling of a pre-coiner (PC) when I tell them I work on Bitcoin:
PC: What is Bitcoin? Why is it valuable? Don't you have to mine it?
First, what do you already know about Bitcoin?
(Note: this is essential so you don't just start ranting at them)
PC: (Uses a lot of energy to mine, not backed, can't touch it)
Gold is valuable, but what property makes gold valuable? Out of all the things in the world, why gold?
PC: It's rare!
Exactly. The scarcity means that to find the next unit you have to spend a lot of energy and time. People can spend their entire lives digging and mining.
PC: But doesn't it waste a ton of energy to mine Bitcoin?
Bitcoin is also scarce so finding more Bitcoin requires a ton of energy. So you have to ask yourself if it's better to use electricity to find Bitcoin or to destroy mountains by mining for gold.
(Note: this landed so hard that the rest of it was easy. We talked for another hour or so.)
You mean for the feds... Eminent domain 7 of the 9 ETFs in one fell swoop.

Avatar: The Last Airbender is the hardest hitting storyline I've ever encountered.
That show taught me the meaning of selflessness, honor, shame, and, most importantly, forgiveness.
The acting is not going to win any awards since I believe they selected for physical resemblance over experienced actors. That said, they did a good job converting a cartoon to live action that stays true to the message of the original.
Sokka: "My first girlfriend turned into the moon."
Zuko: "That's rough, buddy."

I'm so proud of the team at @Amboss for their tireless work to help lightning companies navigate regulatory purgatory.
After countless interviews, we found that regulation was one of the biggest pain points for lightning companies and startups, but rarely discussed publicly.
Business pain points are very different than the predominant anti-gov bitcoiner views, but are no less important to contribute to a robust and thriving Bitcoin ecosystem, both regulated and unregulated approaches are essential.
Here's our re-recorded announcement that we delivered to builders at @btcplusplus in Argentina:

This doesn't make sense as a heuristic to identify a surveillance company. This is the type of allocation that would optimize for payment routing count, but not payment volume.
Also, routing a payment is a really poor indicator of payment origin or destination if that's what you were after for an enforcement action.
