I would guess that Google built something to crawl Bluesky content, access their API, and add it to their index.
Either Google decided that they are relevant enough or Bluesky lobbied Google to add it.
I don't think it can benefit from that unless people that use Bluesky find issues with it. Most people don't care about the underlying technology. They just want their technology to work and fade into the background.
Pura vida 🤙🏻 Welcome to Nostr!

There's going to be a Nostr booth at the upcoming FOSDEM in Brussels, Belgium on February 1 and 2, 2025.
What's FOSDEM?
Free and Open source Software Developers' European Meeting (FOSDEM) is a non-commercial, volunteer-organized European event centered on free and open-source software development.
It looks like there are a lot of good stands that compliment Nostr's ethos that are going to be there. If I was there, I would go around to every single booth and talk to them about Nostr, connecting with each and every one of them, tying their products and services into Nostr's ethos, and hopefully getting them to create brand and/or personal accounts. 🔥

If Alby wanted to do so, they could change derekross@getalby.com to point to any LNURL and wallet. I'd never know until it was too late. I'm not saying they will ever do this, but it could absolutely happen. It's just a server config file. A rouge systems administrator could point it to their wallet if they wanted to do so.
I have an NFC ring that I got back in 2012. It has two tags. I wrote my LN address to the bottom tag and my Nostr profile to the top tag. Ask me how many times in nearly two years I've used it. Zero. Ask me how many times I used it in the previous 12 years? While I don't have an accurate count, I'll say it's less than 12.
We sure do love zaps and the value for value economy here. Though, one of the largest user based technical hurdles for Nostr, IMO, are zaps. While not required, they do enhance the experience. Because of this paired with the fact that many of us are Bitcoiners, we tend to get a bit overenthusiastic when new users join. So, how do we make this easier?
Does Nutsack fix this? Maybe?
I'm still not entirely sold on Nutsack fixing this issue, at least in it's current form. Mint selection may need to be automatic or have recommended mints, but also allow advanced mint selection for more technical people. We also need incredibly easy solutions to convert from 🥜 to ⚡.
Telling people that they're going to need a second application or even a third application doesn't seem like a good experience either.
Would you be comfortable holding hundreds of thousands of sats in a Cashu mint? I would not. Because of this simple fact, I would not be able to recommend Nutsack to new users. I cannot recommend something to people that I don't use or don't fully endorse.
For me, the key is to help users help themselves and while helping them, don't set them up for failure. Don't set them up to be rugged.
I know that nostr:nprofile1qqs04xzt6ldm9qhs0ctw0t58kf4z57umjzmjg6jywu0seadwtqqc75sprfmhxue69uhhq7tjv9kkjepwve5kzar2v9nzucm0d5hsz9mhwden5te0wfjkccte9ec8y6tdv9kzumn9wshszynhwden5te0wp6hyurvv4cxzeewv4esdp32r9 is aware of all of these shortcomings and that he's actively working on making NIP-60 Cashu wallets better and easier to use.
Hell, maybe I'll dive in and switch my zaps to nuts for a while. Do a little bit of dogfooding. Er...squirrelfooding.
Anyways. All of that said, I truly am excited to watch clients integrate this and am hopeful that we can solve all of these onboarding issues. Maybe I'll be surprised.
I love Strike. I use it. I see two small issues. 1) Strike is not available everywhere. 2) It's odd to tell people to use Nostr because it requires no KYC or registration, but then we tell them to use this cool Nostr feature that requires KYC and registration.
I get it. It's just a hard explanation that contradicts ourselves.
Hmm. Maybe this would be best for you to try instead of Haven?

did you know that you can import all of your old and existing notes from other relays directly into your #haven relay? just run the import command (while haven isn't currently running) ./haven --import
