 Q. as 60 MPs join the #LizTruss 'group', one can only wonder if the #Tories might be about to hav...
@43d7c4ea I think it shows how extreme many Conservative Party members are. Remember that they elected Truss over Sunak. That she then crashed economy and left job after just 49 days doesn't seem to matter. Truss supporters still bang drum for her and her policies.
Nick Robinson blames BBC Radio 4 falling ratings on “news avoiders” who don't want to face the world’s problems.
So nowt to do with folk being sick of a one-sided media who won't speak of Brexit, won't debate the future of the UK or of monarchy and endlessly promote Tory and unionist views? Blame the audience as it can't be the BBC which is at fault?
It a tiny glimpse of the attitude people who work at the BBC have had towards Scotland for my whole life.

At pinnacle of UK society is monarchy. The royals hand out gongs chosen by government to those who support all things Bwitish.
I don't see the appeal. Mind you the chances of me being offered a knighthood are about as high as me ever wanting one.

Emily Thornberry is Labour MP for Islington South and Finsbury, and the Shadow Attorney General. On a visit to Scotland she calls ex-Labour supporters who support independence, "vile". It is quite a tactic in trying to win our votes. 🤣
Needless to say, I won't be voting Labour.

@0177da18 Seems we need less commercialism but at same time we need employers to pay decent fair wages so people don't have to take more than one job.
If we stop buying as many holidays, if we don't change our cars as readily or get the washing machine fixed rather than buy a new one then doesn't this mean we need less money so don't need to work as much which in turn means more time and a better life balance.
We only live once. If we can break habits of shopping to feel good and think about why we work then might this lead to better outcomes for the planet and for ourselves?

Polling in the Rutherglen and Hamilton West by-election seem to show that Labour are not persuading SNP voters but instead are picking up the Tory vote. Says much about Labour and the Tories and rubbishes ideas from Labour activists who get all upset when people ask what are the differences between the Tories and Labour. It seems, in Scotland at least, the public share this idea that the parties are interchangeable.
 I'll stand my ground
Won't be turned around
And I won't back down

I'll keep on believing in Scottish Independence no matter how often London politicians and the media tell me no.
