 Bought a new Domain... Probably not worth it but AI figured what the heck.

Gonna try and build a general news site. Never tried and I don't know what I will do there yet.

But I can at least give it a year and see.

Nah... The AI stuff will probably be heavily used for a seperate project, also a general news site, but this time a fictional Scifi future news.

Something in the Vein of FTL News from the 1990s when Scifi Channel actually spelled their name right.

Frankly, the only thing that worries me about Threads is the chance of Meta's Community Guidelines breaking containment.

Otherwise, later tonight I will be sharing my federated accounts with FB friends.

You know how Facebook Community Guidelines violations seem to pop up for any damn thing on there?

My rules on my instances aren't necessarily Meta's, so my are my Threads followers at risk of seeing something like "This post was blocked because it goes against our community standards?"

That sort of thing.

Already turned it on on my Threads account so I can at least test on my own stuff.

I should be able to search for my instances from Threads I hope.

Turned on Fediverse beta and tried to search my accounts, nothing but a bunch of random stuff.

Texas. And I enabled the beta almost immediately once I heard it was doable.

I will just come back to it later than.

I wonder how far this will extend into Meta if this is successful. We are restricting ourselves to talking about Threads because that's what is being used, but what would we see if this was implemented across their entire ecosystem.

Federated Facebook and Instagram...

I installed and set it up just for Testing, haven't found reason to post to it really.

But having that option will make it interesting if more sites implement ActivityPub as well.

 Mom keeps acting as if it's a scam and talks about how it has nothing backing it. Even when I discuss the mechanics of how it works, she harps on the no value and scam idea.

It's annoying when she asks me to explain it and I talk the mechanics and tech, not the currency exchange stuff.
