Part of the fun of Federation.

Already turned it on on my Threads account so I can at least test on my own stuff.

I should be able to search for my instances from Threads I hope.
not yet at least. Apparently Fedi content being able to be seen from Threads is one of the last features that will roll out.

OK, so I can see them but they can't see me at the moment.

Turned on Fediverse beta and tried to search my accounts, nothing but a bunch of random stuff.
where are you located? only people in US, Canada and Japan can turn it on right now. Otherwise, it might just take some time.

Texas. And I enabled the beta almost immediately once I heard it was doable.

I just use it for testing right now.
Yeah, it might take some time because I would think the "jobs" would be backed up because of the sheer amount of people turning it on at once.🤷‍♂️

I will just come back to it later than.

I wonder how far this will extend into Meta if this is successful. We are restricting ourselves to talking about Threads because that's what is being used, but what would we see if this was implemented across their entire ecosystem.

Federated Facebook and Instagram...

Could be interesting.
I think this might be the plan eventually. They already use instagram accounts for Threads on the backend.

I installed and set it up just for Testing, haven't found reason to post to it really.

But having that option will make it interesting if more sites implement ActivityPub as well.

Update.

I can search and find [@cwsmith1701](https://threads.net/@cwsmith1701/) from this instance. So that part is working.
well, the only other parts that work right now is you'll be able to see your posts and if you like it, your threads account will see that a Fediverse user has liked it.
