@LA Legault ✌🏻 I think most don't see protests as doing much. We also lost all ability and generational knowledge to actually organise so yeah protests sadly aren't going to do much of not coordinated with organizing. It's why occupy movement went no where. We are going to need a social revolution before we can vote to have a political revolution. Neoliberalism atomized our individuality to the point that e can no longer organize effectively at all.

@Anarchist Federation Voting is the dilution of the political power of the bourgeois. It is a survival tactic to give you breathing room, and you need to vote for the people most likely to give in to direct action. In the US, not voting ensures the GOP, who doesn't give a crap about direct action and will crush all resistance will do things like memoryhole that anarchism even is a political concept like they did back in 1920 and most in the US still don't kno0w that anarchism has a 150 year history and how its supposed to even work. It took me about a decade to take any anarchist seriously because every one of them were utterly terrible at explaining their positions. Most of us in the US think that anarchism was started in the punk era and is just an ideology created as an excuse by people too lazy to vote. Thanks to people like Andrewism and "what is politics" on youtube I realize that anarchism could potentially work, but we will need a serious social revolution building sustainable community before we can even dream of having a political revolution, skills completely lost and destroyed by neoliberalism. Voting is not about change or giving up power, the rich and fascists ALWAYS vote, you are diluting their power by voting. Voting is about survival and breathing space to build momentum and organizing. The US government utterly crushed and wiped all memory of anarchism from the American brain in 1920, then thanks to HUAC and cointelpro wiped any positive argument for socialism from our mind giving us a strawman understanding of what it was. They CAN do that again. Anarchism requires twice to 3 times as much effort and time to make possible as socialism does, there are at least some figures touting socialism. First anarchism needs to figure out how to explain itself and how it is supposed to mechanistically work because its utterly terrible at that, then it has to reteach itself and the rest of the world how to rebuild sustainable community, THEN it has to cause actual political change through a combo of direct action and voting as if enough people understand anarchism and there are strong enough communities, the government will have no choice but devolve to more direct democracy. But until then the idea of anarchism having any power to spread and building itself without breathing room is an utter joke.
@Joshua Austin :java: :rust:@Mike :nixos: The fact that they'd just let these die is something no company should have the right to decide. Everything should be made with the ability to last and be repaired easily. We need like a new department that a company has to justify why something legit can't be repaired and needs be be tossed, or why it has to be hard to open and fix.

This encapsulates 90's toxic masculinity succinctly
@StillIRise1963 Nazis can be rehabilitated but doing so is slow and tricky. Life after hate is a group that does just that, but can't do so for everyone and those in power especially. AKA not fast enough to keep the people they hate safe
@LA Legault ✌🏻 Why mail in should be mandatory throughout the nation. Getting mail in voting was one of the best things that happened to voting in my state.
