One of my favorite genres of entertainment is when someone complains in the comment section about free and open source software and then the maker of said software shows up and gets defensive.

I’m not a big NFL guy but I’m fine with some notes about the Lions showing up in my timeline. I’m originally from MI and I keep hearing they’re supposed to walk on water this year. 42 years has conditioned me to be somewhat reluctant to believe the hype. I do wish them the best, however…!

I ended up putting in a bone bridge and matching pins on my cheap-o blue acoustic. I got a chance to play a $5000 LG2 on Friday, and I gotta say, my A&L wasn’t too far off sonically, something I’m pretty happy about considering I’ve only got about $400 into it. My 000-28 is now collecting dust.
You ever been so mad at a family member that you don’t think you can ever forgive them? That’s where I’m at. I am seriously so hurt and disappointed by someone’s words and actions that I honestly don’t think I can talk to them ever again. My family is exhausting.
Recently I learned that there are alternative third party front ends for YouTube, such as Invidious, which is great. Any chance there’s something similar for Google News? I don’t mind them tracking me because the content is good, but I can’t stand the format. RSS is not a good option because there are no recommendations.
To be perfectly honest, I thought Sidecar for iPad was sort of gimmicky when it was first announced. But I actually use it all the time when I’m out and about. I often write long (too long!) reports where I need to reference other materials and Sidecar is perfect for this sort of thing. I love it.
Occasionally I erroneously think that I’m not that out of touch with music. Then I randomly come across some musician I’ve never heard of on Instagram with millions of followers, or their YouTube music video with a billion views, and I never feel older than in those moments.
Reading through KP’s email about long Covid and connecting dots:
"For example, if you’ve had depression, anxiety, or other mental or emotional issues, long-term COVID-19 can make them worse."
"Other long COVID-19 symptoms can include:"
"•Brain health: Memory loss, forgetfulness, and feeling light-headed
•Lung and heart health: Shortness of breath, cough, and chest pain
•Movement: General weakness, poor mobility, and difficulty ... https://indw.blog/2023/09/14/reading-through-kps.html
My wife has this weird habit of picking up the one or two cluttered things I occasionally leave around in our room and putting it in my bathroom as a reminder to put them away. Meanwhile, the rest of the room is full of her clutter. I guess she’s staked claim to this sector 😇.

I will definitely check Obsidian. I’m also wondering if maybe I can figure out how to post Git-hosted blog updates via iOS Shortcuts. Not sure how to go about that, but I’m sure there’s a way. #webdev
There’s got to be some middle path for us low-tech normies trying to manage simple web content on a Git-hosted #11ty blog.
Prose.io feels like too much work, but no one needs a full-blown CMS like CloudCannon for a blog.
Perhaps I need a better understanding of markdown note-taking apps, but they feel frictional and clunky.
Is there not some very simple iOS app for this exact purpose?

I concluded a 7-month application and security clearance process today with a 2.5 hour interview with law enforcement, all for a new job. Only 3 more weeks until I find out if I passed and finally step into my new role within the same organization! 😂
I always feel bad when people recognize me around the neighborhood but I have absolutely no idea who they are.
This is especially true if they don’t have a dog. This is honestly the only way I recognize or refer to people.
“Hey, you know that guy with the two huskies?!”
Invited 3 people individually to a sold out concert (for free). Each sounded excited at the time and said they’d get back to me within a week. Several weeks later and not one person has responded.
Reality is they probably just forgot, but I cannot imagine being asked to go to something like this and not responding, even if I couldn’t go. I guess my feelings are hurt and I should grow thicker skin, but it feels like the Portland freeze strikes again.

We have a lot of great shops here in the Portland region. This one specializes in old school acoustics despite all the electrics in my first photo.
I wanted to play a Gibson LG-2 (this one is from the 40s) because I found a cheap guitar a couple months ago modeled after this one dimensionally and I wanted to compare.
