Just visited bsky again and tried to get started by finding some interesting threads to comment on, and failed. I am not sure if nostr onboarding sucks, bsky is no better and probably worse. It doesn’t mean we can just forget it and move on, I think there is a lot of room for improvement for onboarding in the nostr ecosystem 🫡
It is hard to find a human to talk to over there, and I am confused by the interface to find the way to see new things. It is obvious on Nostr when the new note is posted and the poster still likely around.
I do like how they made their media player nicely integrated and well polished. It is also much snappier there compared to here, things load quickly

Nostr clients, what’s your plan to comply with the newly proposed Trump’s revision of section 230? We, at nostr.build, already provide you with the headers suggesting if the media is safe for general audience. Are you planning to utilize it to allow users to consent and opt in into viewing it f they are above the age of 18y? Please do not suggest we post the info to the relay, since it is extra step for you and us that slows things down and makes it unreliable. HTTP headers are there and you get them when you fetch the media, all you need is to read them and act accordingly. 🫡
With the nature of Nostr protocol, it is close to impossible to guard signups (there is none, just random bytes are your keys) Clients on the other hand can provide some level of filtering together with relays 🫡🫂(welcome)
To all the new Damus users who wonder why they can only zap profiles and not notes. Due to some of the weird policies by Apple and other legalese, you’ll need to enable it separately. It is simple, go to https://zap.army and follow the onscreen instructions. 🫂🫡
Just a general rule of “don’t keep all the eggs in one basket” should make you pause. Regardless of how stable and infallible the BTC might be, there is always a risk. It’s not a religion after all, so you should apply reasoning and logic here, and don’t be greedy 🫡🫂
