Trying out primal was pretty much a game changer for me. Integrated wallet, and super smooth UI was perfect. Content not as vast here, but thats not a hard problem to fix.
I saw a post tn that really does have me thinking. “Be the change you want to see in the world”
bitcoiners are good at this generally, but there is still a good number of prominent bitcoiners latched to the reach they get on twitter. Lot’s of arguments to be made, but this move to decentralized social media is incredibly important for the future of freedom of speech. We should urge these bitcoiners to move exclusively to nostr (or at least make a tool that lets them post to both).
I totally agree with this. We have some very prominent bitcoiners that tried nostr and have since gone back to their old ways (I did this too though I am a pleb), but we should urge them to force this move like @ODELL and @Gigi did.
This is proof of work, lets make this future happen.

The creator of nostr @fiatjaf has also done work in the bitcoin community. Lots of bitcoiners are the open source contributors to these clients and have even took implementing features like “zaps” which are micropayments denominated in sats (smallest bits of bitcoins) paid over the lightning network (instant and feeless)
You can zap someone as small as 1 sat (fraction of a cent) if you like.

I think news/articles if anything. I am big into fantasy football and its been tough keeping up with off season moves away from twitter.

Any client can be banned. For instance I am writing this note from the primal app. But there are dozens of other clients like Damus, Nostur, Snort, and more all plugged into the nostr network. And that network can’t be banned because all of these notes are being relayed by nodes (servers) being run by individuals like myself. Think of it like a giant game of whack-a-mole for try and ban it.
It feels like just last week we were all horned up about eNuts. Slick UI, even cooler use of a demo server that they don’t control as the default mint.
Maybe I have my facts wrong, either way the optics on this sucks ass.
I think a “shit my pants thats so crazy” moment for me is when I learned that “borrowing” meant “borrowing from our future generations with no intention of paying it back”
My wife and I just did the latter. We couldn’t really do the former bc we got married so young. So I know it could be better if I did some things differently.

I seriously can’t fucking believe how much everything costs. Starting a life is so damn hard. Student loans, mortgage, taxes, and insurance are 80% of my income. How the fuck is anyone supposed to live this way, let alone save anything.

This is a very fair opinion. His methods have been anything but ethical. He is absolutely some degree of a dictator, but not in the same way the connotation suggests. He has done what is necessary to bring good to the people of El Salvador.
You also trust your hardware device’s secure element. And you trust its generating a seed phrase with *actual* randomness. And you also trust someone else’s node. And you also trust your not being MITM attacked on a deposit.
And this may not all apply to you and we are all learning. But believe it or not, there’s a lot of trust still existing in the hold your own keys camp.
Coinbase Custody offers a really secure institutional product, but yeah these funds should absolutely be looking at where there are still gaps in that security and how they can improve. Solely holding their own keys would scare the absolute shit out of me though.

I do love coldcards, but seed signer way lower barrier of entry. Fully open sourced code, accessible hardware components to build it yourself, has QR support, its stateless so it doesn’t store the seed, and its a lot cheaper than coldcard and Q by a factor of 3-4x.
Both masters of their craft, seedsigner just has impressed me a bit more with their operation.
It was a hell of a ride. Looks like the retirement date has been set regardless of my desires.

I told a family member of mine when we broke $66,000 in 2021 that he should’ve bought. Bitcoin subsequently spent the next 1.5 years crashing, and I ate constant shit of “you should have sold at the top” from the same family member. I learned a lesson here in staying humble, but you know whats better than selling the top? Absolute conviction in your nuts and ruthless endeavor of understanding bitcoin. I need someone to start selling hardware for bitcoin asap. I have a million homelab projects I want to do and literally none of them are getting approval from the wife unless one of you mfers starts taking my sats for it.
I can’t fully wrap my head around what the value prop of an ecash system is and how it has advantages over normal lightning. I understand increased privacy, and the plug and play feel of loading in nostr contacts is slick on enuts, but it feels like normal lightning has the ability to achieve much of the same.
