 @eb948c00 I've been heavily considering getting a Fairphone if my current phone ever dies. Although slow, longest phone software support. Highly suggest supporting these kind of companies if you can!

Funnily enough, most smartphones software shelf span is the fault of both the vendors and qualcomm. Qualcomm software support is also freaking small. Also it should be illegal to sell phones that don't get software support anymore, I can still buy my Op6T... 
 @eb948c00 I got tinfoil hat theory that smartphones cost so much, as to force people into subsidizing them using phone plans. 

My OP6T was top of the line back then 700$ was already expensive, and still goes great today, I hope I stay secure with mine, as no updates are available anymore. Otherwise still perfectly functioning device.
