First time I saw X was before the album came out at a half filled Wisky. They put on a pretty bad show because they were trashed. Exene fell off the stage in front of us. They wouldn't come back out for an encore. Someone came out and told us one of John Doe's parents had just died. Troopers. 😥

 @1f98f549 What a band…the world will never see their like again. Billy Zoom cranking out thunderous guitar with that ever-present beatific smile plastered on his face. The aptly named Don Bonebrake hammering at his drum kit in a spectacularly bone-breaking display. And, front & centre, the melodic emotional train wreck that was John & Exene.
