 While the owner went in the shop, saw the pup getting picked up and reminded me of coming out to see mine, years ago. 
 Okay I thought someone abandoned it. That pisses me off when that happens especially to older dogs. Mine is 13 and I have to pick her up to get her in and out of the vehicle. I have to help her up the stairs and sometimes on the couch. I'm dreading the day she's gone. She is an amazing pup and I couldn't imagine abandoning her  
 There is an amazing @TheGuySwann piece, on a well known investment firm, sorry, can’t remember which one, but it was the line “I get to” rather than “I have to”. He spoke about his dog and said about him getting to take his dog out in the night, it hit hard. Enjoy your time together. 
 Good way to frame it. I don't mind helping her at all and I don't see it as an inconvenience. She's been through a lot with me and has helped me exponentially. I most certainly do not mind helping her. Dogs are phenomenal animals that God has blessed us with
