 #ProofOfPersonhood protocols have properties that could enable borderless Democratic systems which is a design space still to be explored. However, we should be wary of services such as #Worldcoin which are neither open source nor decentralized. Worldcoin says their users can earn a UBI but Worldcoin has launched with a massive premine so it’s a bit of a joke. Also, its hardware is opaque and we don’t know how the biometrics are being handled. There are other alternatives to Worldcoin which are privacy preserving and don’t even require biometrics. One such service is #Idena (https://www.idena.io/). Today, #blockchain compete with governments/banks on the ownership of the money. Tomorrow, PoP blockchain will compete on the handling of identity with government. Our #DigitalID shouldn’t be the property of governments.
