 I guess they finally realized that if I'm already running linux on my laptop I'm far more likely to run linux on my servers rather than switch OSes regularly in my workflow.

Honestly even Red Hat being ornery with licensing is enough to drive me away if it is my choice.

Meanwhile Ubuntu LTS is readily available in server and desktop form, runs great on my laptop, and Canonical gives me 5 free pro licenses for personal use.

That also means search results are full of Ubuntu fixes while Red Hat and BSD fixes are harder to find. 
 Oh hell yeah, they are going to be collaborating with Framework! What a beautiful match. 
 It’s great this is being done, wifi in particular is in a sorry state
