The current #wolf debate in Europe is poisoned by the wrong focus. The European Commission demands recent numbers of wolves, but do these numbers really matter to the debate? All signatories to the Bern Convention share a commitment to have healthy sustainable populations of wolves across Europe, so this implies we need to coexist with them. A thread.

 @34996c05 Reminds me of the time there was a big money hunting expo in Budapest, and a storyteller friend of mine, who does environmental education, was told from high up she can't tell any tales where wolves are not evil, because it might affect the expo's reception.......
