surprising... (I am eternally grateful to meta for open sourcing, however) https://www.bloomberg.com/news/features/2024-01-11/mark-zuckerberg-pivots-to-ai-from-metaverse-to-further-his-legacy
Loll... His "meteverse" wasn't going to work... 😩
J'ai hâte qu'on revienne aux circuits courts..
So this wasn’t really working, huh. https://image.nostr.build/b5ec734818d642a36d9dfa651194ed82d0f030b4333a991c1ba33d55b7f1a24c.jpg
@jack could you please check your DM, Jack?
not surprising at all. literally, meta owns nothing outright; it's a stake company. raw dogging the nets since forever has its perks if someone knows you well enough to recognize your legacy and the trust recognition is mutual. 🫡
this felt kinda predictable. I imagine meta and roblox are probably most dependent on AI in order to achieve their goal. Building a metaverse probably can't happen with AI the same way discovering the universe won't be possible without robots/energy
So there’s a few concerns I have, one is the algorithmic feeds - people miss posts - one is them taking over email (people had their email addresses on their profile replaced with a fb.com email), and then another one is the censorship (though apparently zuck is pretty anti censorship but it’s hard to tell, his product doesn’t act like it) and also their anti companies business practices With all that being said it apparently turns out that they actually weren’t responsible for the 2016 election/russia story
