When I get a DM from someone i'm not following (or someone not in my address book, or someone with a low WOT score), I would like that I can't even see their message or it goes to a spam tab unless they pay a minimum number of sats to me to look at their message.
That seems simple enough.
Good idea.
Ew. No thanks.
Why do you consistently act like a menstruating teenager?
Because I'm an adult who is self-possessed enough to not need crappy WoT to "protect" me from an occasional spam message, and I also think it's a bit weird to require payment to initiate communication.
^ Found the guy who's NOT a customer on OnlyFans!
Lol! Yup. The only use I have for OF is help in tracking down scammers and spammers who use OF "model's" content to attempt to sucker me into sending them money. 🙄
Goodness, that's a thing?
Me too. Anime waifus are much better than OnlyFans.
Eunice Winstead is my favorite dead third grade waifu.
How many people you're not following actually DM you? I can easily imagine this reducing real DMs from strangers to zero, while only discouraging the more inefficient and unsuccessful scammers.
There aren't enough people on this platform to attract enough bots to cause a level of spam that warrants a spam dm solution. Yes, I do get spam, but its occasional. If it can be a policy, and it doesen't need to be yet, it can be a simple solution to a problem that has plagued us in email today. Zaps allow us to decide real value. If the operator of a bot really wants our attention in DMs, he can pay us for it. If we don't want to give our attention to someone unless they pay us 1000 sats, that is my decision. If I have some kind of misplaced ideology that dictates I should read all spam, I can set it to zero minimum. If its a real person, I can zap them back and it costs them nothing.
