Why not just pay $5/mo for some vps and host your own relay for all this? Why can't my drskop/phone be my own relay?
you can. But this is the easiest way to do it right now.
-self host your own wallet with BTCPay software -self host your own image & videos with Chevereto software -self host you own relay with nostr-rs-relay of course that cost money, more money than what you are paying but most importantly you need to have the skills to self host everything. So it's good there is administrators out there running things for us. Sometimes it's better and easier to just pay someone else to host and maintain things for you. What worries me is that someday the relay operators or image hosting websites might shutdown and there goes all my posts. I like hosting my own things. #btcpay #chevereto #nostr-rs-relay
Agree, freedom don't come free. I just went with hosting all my images on a public s3 like bucket with a domain pointed at it. I don't host my own relay but I would like a relay or something I can host to pull down all my posts for archival purposes should the public relays let me down. Know of anything like that?

Nostr client integrations is really the only thing that comes to mind.
A thing which doesn't make those services any more decentralized than Google Drive. These services probably shouldn't have "Nostr" in the name at all, but the fact that many people on Nostr think that they are decentralized, or in any way whatsoever censorship resistant, shows that much of the Nostr community doesn't actually understand (or care about) either decentralization or censorship resistance.
Someone should group these into a package and serve it as a nostr premium membership.
You should reach out and get on as a re-seller. Seems like a natural way to fund further development of an app like this. "Amethyst premium"
