Well, they're not wrong. Democrats DO promote, demand, and fight for democracy. More than half the country are against it.

A pure Democracy is dictatorship by the majority.

We are a Constitutional Republic. A Republic with a Constitutionally Limited Government.

Which is why all citizens have natural, inalienable rights which are protected under the Bill of Rights FROM the majority. 

 @c89aa391 I thought that one of the major tenets of a democracy is the ability to vote for whoever you want though. I would think that a pure democracy would have a "one person one vote" system rather than an electoral college system, but not tyranny, necessarily.
