It's a cool service but hard to justify ~$10 / month when most relays are already free.

It's not 10 USD a month. I thought that too. Their website is confusing. Price was hard to find. So supposedly it's a one time payment of 18,888 sats. Then you can purchase something called a filter for 10 USD a month. I have no idea what this filter is. I'm not positive on this though. Their website is not clear. Paying for a relay is a way to show your support on what your values are. If you support them then you will get a relay without spam and maybe they only allow good npub profiles? I don't know you will have to do your own research. Most free relays are trash. The noreplyguys guys have demonstrated that. Some administrators are not actually involved in the relay. They just set it up and left. Frankly, I think the nostr.wine business model is flawed because one time payments eventually bankrupt the company and does not allow them to make a steady stream. Unless of course they have big pockets or friends with big pockets paying for their servers.
