 We are used to drink still water all day and natural mineral water after meals especially after dinners which help digestion as well. 

Don't confuse the natural mineral water and the mineral water you mentioned they are two different things, the one you used to is what we call soda actually. Natural mineral water is the one that has minerals in it but sparkling water or soda or mineral water is still water enriched with further minerals.

You can't drink one liter or even half a liter natural mineral water at one go because it will hurt your throat. This is probably why some of us don't like sparkling/mineral/soda water.
