Anyone attempted to update their #umbrel to V1.1?

How was your experience?

I’m seeing boot issues from other people. Unable to recognize SSDs.
Oh yikes. Is it open to everyone yet or still just umbrel box owners?
 Open.

Well I was about to dive in and now I'm scared. But how would upgrading an Umbrel instance on a Linux box lose ssds?
 It’s not an OTA update.

You need to make a backup of your data, wipe clean the Linux system and replace with Umbrel.

This version is a standalone OS. Not like the one before when it lived in a docker on top of Linux.

And apparently, people can’t find the SSD after the fresh installation.
 Oh. That's a bummer.
Yeah, requires a lot of work to upgrade.

This does not look good. People really should just learn to install all the software themselves.
It’s not good. It was a huge leap forward for the OS. Which now requires a complete migration and reinstall.

It sucks.
Dam. Just install Debian 12 and have it work for 5 years =)
I had a tougj time reflashing the new OS onto my computer.
 Where did you get stuck?
It's not reading the USB stick. It worked before. 🤷
I don’t mean to sound more knowledgeable than you.

But It’s difficult to assist from here, here is is what I would do.

1- check boot sequence against, make sure it sees the USB stick. If this is good.
2- burn the OS iso on stick again.

The OS should be installed on the internal drive of course, but of course carful you keep your backup away from the computer so that you don’t format it by mistake.
You were right. It was the boot sequence.
