The amount of “libertarians” here cheering on the violation of private property is despicable. nostr:note1uclcrhkfvqd7wsm098xl3frufjxxdzksrmdl0qzlfrgpmarx6h9qrtm2t9
Wow, those comments are pretty despicable. To me, the belief that there is only one right way to live your life is simple minded.
Many times I find this community is all about freedom for me but not for thee. Its Unfortunately very single lens of conservatism rather than libertarian.
Yes, exactly. That’s it! The single lens view of topics is pretty glaring on here.
The question is, if they are actually even calling themselves "libertarians". I guess not everybody on NOSTR will have the same values about freedom, some people might be here just because they hate something (politics, Twitter, mainstream...).
Agreed, some peopleare just here to be mean
Really trying to put a wedge between us with reckless abadanon.
One must be prepared for the consequences of displaying flags or symbols or speech while in society. Carrying a nazi flag is also perfectly within your rights, but low self-control, low IQ people could definitely do you harm. Sometimes it’s better to be the grey man. Being in the right won’t matter if you are injured or dead.
Of course, he needs to be prepared, but on the other hand, I always expected libertarians to defend ANYONE (even Nazis) to have any flag on their house, regardless of their own personal values or opinions. And I am often kind of disappointed by how much this is not the reality, how much the freedom only counts for things "I like" and not so much for things others like and I do not. But this way of thinking brings us back to where we have always been. Freedom of speech either IS or IS NOT. Nothing in between. No exceptions. No opinions. No "yes, but...". No matter what the flag was, even if it was the flag of the FED, the communists, or the worst shitcoin you know. There is simply no room for personal values, when it comes to standing up for freedom of speech, everything should come through the filter, otherwise there is no freedom at all.
Agree with you…it’s also within your rights to sleep with food in your tent in grizzly bear country. That doesn’t make it a good idea, unless you like fending off bear attacks
I’m definitely in the free speech absolutist camp btw 🫡
 Seriously. Some people’s kids.
sadly, some people feed on the negativity. They thrive on the idea that someone is suffering for their entertainment or to justify their anger as a confirmation bias of their situation and feelings.
