I've never bought a book bc it was a #NYT best seller #NYTBS . I've bought a lot of books in my life. Surely every book in the bookstore isn't a NYTBS.

But I get the feeling it's important to be a NYTBS if you're an author. 

Can an author explain to me why?

 I'm not an author, but I'll answer for my wife who is a New York Times Bestseller. Dude in the screenshot is correct.  

 I am a novice author and not a NYT bestseller, mainly because I’m British and my book is about Bitcoin, which is stranger than fiction and so unbelievable for most normies.
