I understand. I was finding myself positively connecting with this quote and then only after I had looked it up felt a bit self conscious. I think things can be appreciated at face value, but the context helps place the work. I do really like the movie Midnight in Paris though.
Yea I think it definitely adds a complexity. Like, wouldn't they also know what is beautiful? Maybe they have a better idea of ugliness and truth. Albeit skewed. How does that relate to our own views? Etc. I always hesitate to learn about an author or artist if I truly enjoy the work. Although, the one creator I recently learned about that just seems bad ass is the woman who came up with Sailor Moon 😂 but I'm sure there is more to it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qbYdQKvB-30
