It stands to reason that ai will continually get better at writing code, but one of the things that I realized is that while it is amazing at writing simple things like sorting algorithms, it is terrible at bigger picture stuff.
I think it is likely that wages might go down, but I think it is just as likely that software complexity will go up and we'll start to see more and more dedicated debugging roles.
@c45dcdd0 @4ebb1885 yeah, the same thing is happening in translation: fewer actual translation roles, more post-editing. some people like debugging/post-editing, but tweaking an existing thing is fundamentally different (and doesn’t pay as well) as making the thing yourself.
