 A fork.
Right. Why would you ruin perfectly balanced meal with some disgusting ketchup anyway?
There is such a thing as good ketchup, though...
In theory, yes, in reality I doubt that 😅
Maybe mashed tomatoes or how it is called in English. But ketchup as such?
Well, it is a type of tomato based sauce. If you make it fresh with good tomatoes, it's really good. A simple recipe is salt, vinegar, a bit of sweetener (I'd use honey), and tomatoes. That's really all it needs to be.
As I said, you are factually correct, but I`m generally no fan of it.
I much prefer the Italian tomato-based sauces. That goes well with pasta, not so much with eggs for me :D.
I like ketchup on a lot of things, but, I'm not a gourmet and I'm definitely American. 😅
 :D

Yeah. I never understood many of US food combinations.
Like ketchup or cheese to everything :D

That said we have some weird local tastes as well, not mentioning my experience from Bavaria...
Because cheese is one of the best things ever of all time.

And tasty tomato sauce goes well with many things, but... Less so if the stuff you're primarily eating is good.
 soft or hard fork?
Hard. A soft fork is mostly useless in this context.
