That’s a fantastic urban myth that we tried. Doesn’t work for shit but have great photo of tomato dog for posterity. Only think I have found is make a paste of bicarbonate of soda and dish soap. Have to really work it in, hold the beast so it doesn’t lick for 5-10 minutes and then rinse
Good to know. We dealt with this years ago for one of our little guys who got face sprayed 3 times over 3 days. He liked it I think. Kind of a freak.
 🤣
🤣 yeah they don’t stop going back. Reckon it’s hunter instruct to hide smell
follow up there. Was curious what chemicals make the spray so pungent. Thiols (alcohol groups substituted with a sulphur). Although seems straight forward that the soap would act a surfactant and adhere to molecules and allow cleaning away, Wondering if things like the butyl group choemicals may also be fat soluble which is why some of the stink remains. I'd guess a bit of oil added into mix might help too. I may consider a little coconut oil or neem oil next time this happens and after looking up, apparently neem oil not toxic for dogs and may actually help keep pest free coat and be good for skin. Be interested to have someone with more chemistry knowledge than me check my logic but gonna give it a try anyhow!
