That's true and often induced through fear. Climate change, pick a side in wars, covid, cancel culture and so on. It divides some people and makes them angry. From my perspective still more people are waking up but some of them are searching for easy solutions in politics and would still go for communism and collectivism. Freedom is still a strong value for sure. I sadly talked to people who thought they need to choose between freedom and some narratives. This people knew nothing about economics before.
Not sure what the moment was. It just became apparent given the power structures before the internet: elites + media bosses influenced politicians and media, which steered society in a direction the elites liked. Especially with some of the elites BEING media bosses. They played all of us, for a long time. The internet, as the p2p information transport layer, changed the dynamics. Now they can only play their game with the money printer. We are being played again, and because everyone needs money, most prefer to submit. Bitcoin, as the p2p value layer, will do the same to the money printer, as the internet has done to the newspaper printer. A bright future is ahead UNLESS WE SCREW IT UP.
