The US Treasury Department has imposed sanctions on several Russian media executives, including RT's editor-in-chief Margarita Simonyan, and restricted the Rossiya Segodnya media group and its subsidiaries. The US Department of State has designated the media group and five of its subsidiaries as 'foreign missions'.
