If your take the time, and find the courage, to cleanse your environment of outside influence and focus on learning, accepting and loving yourself, without the distraction of external noise, you can find peace and serenity. You can then choose to re-introduce influences which compliment and add to happiness, without comprising truth. I think the tough part is conquering the loneliness, which is the withdrawal symptom, and filling the void with trust, love and faith in yourself.
