My 50yo dual still works just fine. It doesn't get a lot of use (usually just digitally recording an album once) but it still sounds fine - a lot better than the 50yo cassette tapes do.

I bought a new cassette player - my Teac died. The tapes are what are in bad shape after all that time.
@e7cebe76 @815abfad there are still decent cassette decks made? Any that I’ve seen are basically toys (like the awful sounding novelty tapes being released)
