One of the few tv shows I still watch is Real Time w/ Bill Maher. I mostly focus on finance, so getting a once-a-week checkup on what news events are noteworthy is useful. And I like to see people with totally different backgrounds debating each other on stuff. I feel like we need more of that.

He and Jon Stewart often are enforcers of the narrative of their chosen tribe, but they also from time to time critique the narrative from the inside, which is a vitally important activity for any community.

He probably does (I don’t watch him much but my impression is that he probably does), but that makes it all the more notable and indeed valuable when he calls out at least some of the toxic notions of the woke left.

Bill Maher is a typical white-hating media jew. In a recent interview with Sharon Osborne he celebrated the demise of English culture; with Joe Rogan he said his home state of New Jersey was “bad” for being white back in the day.

Yet you use language like “white-hating media jew”? Someone fed you some very dangerous rhetoric and you’ve lapped it up. Merely referring to Maher as Jewish exposes how little you even know about him.

I know that he hates white people and apologizes for their ongoing replacement. Nothing else about him can offset the enormity of that defect for me. The “dangerous” information I base the relevance of Maher’s race on is the compendious research of Dr. Kevin Macdonald, as presented in his three books applying sociobiology to jews. This belief is only held consistently, however, by a subset of white people, specifically by those of Northwestern European ancestry. Notwithstanding libertarian intellectual luminaries like Ayn Rand and Murray Rothbard, jews are overwhelmingly among the most ethnically nepotistic race on earth. Conservation of meritocracy requires using our freedom of disassociation against nepotists of all kinds, and disassociation from jews, who are not only nepotistic but also globalist totalitarians in the outsized political influence they wield, is for these reasons expedient to the advancement of liberty.

Maher gets a lot of hate, as likely will you for watching him, but as you said, you’d be hard pressed to find a political panel and interview show with the diversity of opinions that he has on and he consistently asks hard questions.

One thing I'll point out to commenters is that my appreciation of the show is not based on Bill Maher's views on things. I disagree with him about as much as I agree with him. It's that the show covers some news, and then more importantly has guests discuss the news with a decent amount of time.

Jon Stewart and Bill Maher aren't based, clever or funny. they are JEW PROPAGANDISTS FOR THE JEW WORLD ORDER. their message at the end of the day is THE WORLD IS BETTER WITHOUT WHITE PEOPLE. all of their "jokes" are there just to keep the CATTLE watching their show while they insidiously insert this agenda. Lyn you need to understand "entertainment" only exists as a vehicle or vector for inserting the agenda. Whether it is sports, comedy, music, movies etc. In the end it's all about getting rid of white people so the Jews can have the planet to themselves.

the world is naturally hierarchical. egalitarianism, equity and fairness are mostly a fantasy. look at animal world - does it make sense for sheep to ask if the world would be better without wolves ? CAN THERE BE a world without wolves ? if you exterminated all the wolves they would get replaced with coyotes or bobcats or whatever. as long as there are sheep somebody will eat them. humans are apex predators of the animal world. Propagandists have no views, they parrot programming. Maher is so mainstream, he used to lament how Trump destroyed the USA and Biden was "working hard" after the '20 (s)election. What real news is the show covering? He has been doing damage control for the left since before the last mid-terms, a concerted effort to move the blue voting cattle a certain direction. Shows and celebrities that feed polarization and division are the hallmark of modern day manipulation. Maher is a savant in this field - political "comedians" are just tools.

Same here. Good baselining/calibration exercise and as open a dialogue as it gets today I’m the mainstream. I feel like the timescale in which he finally does come around to Bitcoin will be an important signpost, at least in gauging public perception and a turning point in the learning process. He’ll get there eventually. His past comments about (and love for) sports can be interpreted as a clear one for one proxy for proof of work.
