Instructions for those wishing to switch to Knots on nostr:nprofile1qqs9df4h2deu3aae83fmet5xmrlm4w5l9gdnsy3q2n7dklem7ezmwfcpz3mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuerpd46hxtnfduq5xamn8ghj7dnvv45xs7tywde8g6rpvakkjuekw46nvar4vdhxgan6wumkxatzwpckk6rk0puhjdm2da5k7ce5x4kkkumjx3jkzepwdahxjmmwqyt8wumn8ghj7un9d3shjtnwdaehgu3wd9hxvmckqw0xz from Core:

If running Core < 27.1:

Go to the Community Marketplace
Update Bitcoin
Configure and save (Bitcoin may get stuck shutting down - known bug in StartOS - if so, restart the server).
Services that depend on Bitcoin *may* complain about RPC becoming inaccessible. If so, enter config and hit save in the unhappy service so that it grabs new RPC creds from Knots.

If you want to switch to knots and are on Core v27.1:

Go to system tab
Click "Manage" 5 times to enable developer mode
Go to Community Marketplace
Click on Knots and "Reinstall" it.
As above for everything else

If you have already installed DATUM and it's not working correctly since switching to Knots, enter DATUM's config and hit save so that it grabs what it needs.
This is an interesting and informative reddit discussion on what Bitcoin Knots is and why you’d run it vs Bitcoin Core on @Start9 :

what would you recommend as a small node and mining setup for someone just getting started? I was thinking something like a start9 and a bitaxe
That's a pretty good start. Hard to recommend any miner equipment in current state of affairs sadly.
is that due to the centralization of miners or other factors?
Thank you, sir! Would like to zap you, sir. Would you consider setting it up? ⚡
