 @edc128e6 I read all of this and I am struck by what I'm always struck by when I read Tom Nichols: this man is paid to have epiphanies as a supposed expert with decades of experience what I realized twenty five years ago fresh out of college. 

I understand why so many people are Republican intellectuals: it's the ultimate grift for people with no talent. 
 @edc128e6 It’s not so much surprise, as confirmation of what we have observed w/ our own eyes and ears. Those in power works SO HARD to keep facts at bay, and sometimes, you want EVIDENCE beyond your own gut instinct.
