Some people love wearing masks 😷 It's like an identity thing. Like a hat or chain wallet accessory. Very edgy indeed. My favorite is when I see someone completely alone in a car wearing one. For safety of course. I also saw a girl on the beach one day talking on the phone 50-100 feet away from everyone wearing a mask. She was also fully clothed in 100° weather. For safety of course. It's interesting to say the least.
Look I’m all for taking precautions if you have to (say, if you’re immunocompromised) but some people just make a hobby of it and take it for wild extremes, like min/maxing their lives. Like, have you seen r/zerocovidcommunity? Can’t tell if serious. https://www.reddit.com/r/ZeroCovidCommunity/s/9XA3d0i5l5
I would wear a mask if I went to a nursing home or a hospital where people are compromised but not at the beach for God's sake.
As a fully vaxxed, liberal, willing taxpayer, I’m 100% with you
Ditto. Reasonable precautions in the presence of others: yes, deluded mask-faith signalling: no thank you.
I live in hawaii. I watched a tourist in a mask swim in the ocean and almost drown... Swear people lack common sense.
...wat
It's an identity thing yes, or perhaps rather a new-found profession if faith.
If it's an identity thing, they are probably less doing it for safety and more doing it for a sense of security.
There’s a guy I’ve seen in the lobby of a commercial building I work in for something like18 months who wears one on his chin every single day. I don’t fucking get it… Screw it I’m gonna ask him next time I see him
