That's depressing and isolationist.
Imho it's quite the opposite, because it founds relationships on the basis of self respect and deep respect for others as well.
I need to think more on that... from previous experiences relationships where respect was a topic rarely had bandwidth to focus on happiness as well.
Respect also means freeing the other person from expectations, wishes or desires. If both parties grant that and you can be completely yourself on this basis within a personal relationship, this is an important prerequisite for a honest, deep and authentic interconnectedness.
